Hey there sled heads. Just wanted to report in about the Rutherford while we're here in Pemberton. The Pemberton Snowmobile Club grooms the Rutherford trail every Tuesday and Friday. We were riding with our 2 1/2 year old so we didn't get very far...but as far as the trail goes...AWESOME!!
In speaking with Ken Archer (Exec of the Pemby Club), he told me they have been running their groomer up past their cabin.
Make sure you pay your 'user fees' at the trail head when you arrive. Plenty of parking, especially on the 'power station' side of the highway. You can pull down into the kayak course for easy parking and then the trail to the other side of the highway is under the bridge. It's very obvious!!
As for highway traffic from Vancouver up the Sea-to-Sky...it's a non-issue you guys. We travelled up on Monday (mid-morning) and it couldn't have been more uneventful. A VERY easy drive...they didn't even stop me at the Alice Lake check point...just had to slow down so they could see the Highway Permit.
Get out there and ride you guys...the Sea-to-Sky is open for business!!
